Metabolic Scan

At Vivify U, we understand the importance of precise measurement in achieving optimal health and wellness goals. That is why we have invested in Korr Medical scanners, which are used in our wellness centers. These scanners, along with RMR Lab Testing, allow us to remove the guesswork and rely fully on science when it comes to determining individual calorie consumption and macronutrient breakdown.

Unlike the common practice in the personal training industry of using online calculators, we use lab equipment that measures the consumption of oxygen by the body. This equipment helps us calculate an individual's Resting Energy Expenditure (REE) or Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) accurately. By analyzing the oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production, we can determine the amount of energy (in calories) that the body requires to maintain essential life-sustaining processes at rest, such as heartbeat, respiration, and brain function.

The information provided by the RMR test is invaluable in creating more accurate and individualized nutrition and coaching programs. It not only shows whether an individual has a fast or slow metabolism but also pinpoints the precise caloric intake required for various goals such as athletic performance, weight loss, weight/muscle gain, and maintenance. The applications of RMR testing go beyond personal goals and extend to the treatment of obesity and related diseases like metabolic syndrome, sleep disorders, diabetes, and thyroid disorders. Our RMR testing is conducted under strict laboratory protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Understanding your Resting Metabolic Rate is crucial in determining the exact caloric intake your body requires to optimize your health goals. Contrary to popular belief, eating minimal food (usually below 1200 calories) to lose weight can be counterproductive and trigger the body into a famine response mode, leading to fat storage instead of muscle building. Similarly, increasing training load without consuming enough calories to meet your RMR and training needs may result in exhaustion and muscle mass loss.

By knowing the number of calories your body needs within a day, you can achieve your body composition goals while ensuring good health and well-being. At Vivify U, we prioritize accurate measurement and scientific approaches to empower individuals in their journey towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
